The Prophet Muhammad (S):
On the Day of Resurrection, the feet of the servant will not slip until he is asked about four things: his years and how he spent them, his youth and how he wasted it, his wealth, whence he earned it and how he spent it, and our love, the people of the household (Ahl al-bayt).'

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
Muadh b. Kathir asked Imam al-Sadiq (as): 'Now that I have become rich, do I give up trading?' To which the Imam replied: 'If you do that, your intellect will diminish.'

The Prophet Muhammad (S):
O Allah provide moderation and sufficiency to Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, and to those who love Muhammad and his family, and provide abundance of wealth and progeny to those who harbour hatred for Muhammad and his family.

Imam Ali (as):
If a tribulation afflicts you, shield your life with your wealth, and if something detrimental to your religion befalls you, then shield your religion with your life, and know that the ruined man is the one whose religion gets destroyed and the plundered one is he whose religion is plundered.

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
Abu Dhar, may Allah be pleased with him, used to say in his sermon: "O seeker of knowledge, let not your family or your wealth distract you from yourself, for when you depart from them, it will feel as if you were a guest who stayed with them for the night and left them in the morning."

Imam Muhammad al-Baqir (as):
[Consider] your sojourn in this world just as a house that you stayed in and [soon] departed from, or a property that you found in a dream then you awoke and not a thing from it remained with you. I have given you this parable because this world, according to the people of intellect and knowledge of Allah, is just as the shadow in the shade.

Imam al-Kazim (as):
He who wants wealth without the need for riches, and comfort of the heart free from jealousy, and security in his faith should implore Allah, Mighty and Exalted, in his plea for Him to perfect his intellect.

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
Place your heart as a righteous companion, or a thankful son, your deed as a father you follow, your carnal soul [Nafs] as an enemy you struggle against, and your wealth as a loan you will have to pay back.

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
It is written in Torat: O san of Adam! Devote yourself exclusively to my worship and I will fill your heart with wealth and will not leave you to your need and it will be upon me to end your poverty, and fill your heart with awe of Me. However, if you do not devote yourself exclusively to my worship, I will fill your heart with preoccupation with this world, then I will not end your poverty and will leave you to your need.

Imam al-Kazim (as):
O Hisham, He who wants freedom from need without the need for riches, and comfort of the heart free from jealousy, and security in his faith should implore Allah, Mighty and Exalted, in his plea for Him to perfect his intellect. He who uses his intellect is content with that which suffices him and once he is content with what suffices him, he becomes free from need. And the one who is not content with that which suffices him [and craves for more] will never experience contentment.
