Today in Ramadhan (17) - The Battle of Badr.

On such a day, the battle of Badr which is the first encounter between Muslims and the polytheists took place.

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as)

فِيمَا نَاجَى اللَّهُ بِهِ مُوسى‏ عليه السلام، قَالَ: يَا مُوسى‏، لَاتَنْسَنِي عَلى‏ كُلِّ حَالٍ؛ فَإِنَّ نِسْيَانِي يُمِيتُ‏ الْقَلْبَ.

Part of what Allah spoke to Moses, 'O Moses, do not forget Me in any condition; as forgetting Me kills the heart.'

يَا مُوسى‏، أَ تَدْرِي لِمَ‏ اصْطَفَيْتُكَ بِكَلَامِي‏ دُونَ خَلْقِي؟ قَالَ‏: يَا رَبِّ، وَ لِمَ ذَاكَ؟ قَالَ: فَأَوْحَى اللَّهُ تَبَارَكَ وَ تَعَالى‏ إِلَيْهِ: يَا مُوسى‏، إِنِّي قَلَّبْتُ عِبَادِي ظَهْراً لِبَطْنٍ، فَلَمْ أَجِدْ فِيهِمْ أَحَداً أَذَلَّ لِي نَفْساً مِنْكَ.
