Imam Ali (as):
The biggest loser, the worst failure, is a man who wears down his body to satisfy his desires, but destiny does not side with him—he leaves the world with only remorse and arrives in the hereafter with a burden of sin.

Imam Ali (as):
The greatest of regrets on the Day of Resurrection will be the regret of a man who gained wealth through means of disobedience to Allah, which was then inherited by a man who spent it in the obedience of Allah, glory be to Him; thus because of it [i.e. the same wealth] the latter entered Paradise whereas the former entered the Fire.

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
Imam al-Sadiq (as), when the clothes merchant, Muadh b. Kathir told him, 'I have decided to leave the market while I have some money in hand', said, 'Then regard for you will fall and you will not be sought for help with anything.'

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
In one of Allah's intimate conversations with Prophet Moses (AS), He said, O Moses, do not envy anyone for their abundant wealth, for when one’s wealth increases, so does his sins, due to its obligatory rights [they usually fail to fulfill].
