Imam Ali (as):
Nothing is better conducive to Allah’s worship than the intellect, and a man’s intellect is not complete until he has some qualities: disbelief and evil from him are not to be feared, while progress and good are expected from him, and the excess from his wealth is given away [in Allah’s way].

The Prophet Muhammad (S):
The Prophet (SAWA) said [to his companions]: 'It is incumbent upon every single Muslim to give charity every day.' When they exclaimed who would be capable of such a thing, he replied, ‘[Charity does not always involve spending money, so] Your removal of an obstacle from a pathway is an act of charity; your guiding someone to the right path is an act of charity; your visiting the sick is an act of charity; your enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong are acts of charity; and your returning someone’s greeting is an act of charity.’

The Prophet Muhammad (S):
Every bounty will be asked about on the Day of Resurrection except for what was [used] in the way of Allah, Most High.

The Prophet Muhammad (S):
Whoever is charitable towards the poor, and is fair towards people in spite of himself, then he is truly a believer.

Imam al-Reḍa (as):
Instruct the child to give charity with his own hand, be it a piece of bread or a handful of [food] or any other small thing, for everything - no matter how little it is -if done for the sake of Allah and with an honest intention- is great.

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
Who guarantees four things for me, in exchange for four houses in Paradise? Spend in charity and do not fear poverty, spread greetings of peace in the world, abandon disputation even if you are right, and be fair with people in spite of yourself.

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
There are three things which if a person performs even one, Allah will make Paradise incumbent for him: to give charity when one is needy oneself, cheerfulness with the whole world, and being just in spite of one's self.

Imam al-Sajjad (as):
Imam Ali ibn al-Hussain used to go out every morning seeking out livelihood, and when he was asked where he was going, he said, 'To bring charity for my family,. Then he was asked, 'Do you take charity?' To which he replied, '[No, but] whoever seeks out lawful livelihood, that livelihood is in fact a charity given to him by Allah.'
