Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
It is written in the Torah: 'Be thankful to the one who does good to you, and do good to the one who thanks you, for verily your blessings will not cease to exist as long as you give thanks, just as it will not remain for you if you should be ungrateful. Thankfulness [to Allah] brings about increase in blessings and security against alterations.'

Imam Ali (as):
Extend your hand in recompense to one who has done good to you, and if you cannot do so, then at least thank him.

Imam Ali (as):
A kind deed you do for a person is in fact kindness done towards yourself, which is also a means of decorating your own honour. So, do not seek thanks from someone else for what you have done for yourself.

The Prophet Muhammad (S):
Whoever has been endowed by Allah the memorization of His Book, and doubts that someone has been given something better than what he has, has despised the greatest bounty.

Imam al-Jawad (as):
People who perform acts of courtesy towards others benefit more from them than the receptors of their kindness, for verily they have the reward for them, the [rewarding feeling of] pride for having helped someone as well as a mention. So however much good a man may do for others, it ultimately always starts by benefiting himself, and hence he never seeks thanks for the benefit incurred by himself through helping others.

The Prophet Muhammad (S):
Allah does not open the door of thanks for His servant and keep the door of increase shut.

Imam al-Hadi (as):
The thankful person prospers more as a result of his thanks than as a result of the bounty which incited the thanks, because bounties are sources of delight [in this world] whereas to thank brings bounties in this world and the hereafter.

Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
Every single breath you take necessitates an essential thanks from you, or rather a thousand thanks or more. Hadith:
