رسول الله (صلی الله علیه و آله):
إِنَّ أَبْخَلَ النَّاسِ مَنْ بَخِلَ بِالسَّلَامِ وَ أَجْوَدَ النَّاسِ مَنْ جَادَ بِنَفْسِهِ وَ مَالِهِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ .
بخیل ترین مردم کسی است که از سلام کردن (به مردم) بخل بورزد ، و بخشنده ترین مردم کسی است که جان و مال خود را در راه خدا بدهد .
