الإمام الكاظم (عليه السَّلام):
إيّاكَ والطَّمَعَ، وعلَيكَ باليَأسِ مِمّا في أيدِي الناسِ، وأمِتِ الطَّمَعَ مِن المَخلوقِينَ؛ فإنَّ الطَّمَعَ مِفتاحٌ لِلذُّلِّ، واختِلاسُ العَقلِ، واختِلاقُ المُرُوّاتِ، وتَدنِيسُ العِرضِ، والذَّهابُ بِالعِلمِ
Imam al-Kazim (P) le dijo a Hashim, exhortándolo: “Debes cuidarte de la avaricia y la desesperación de adquirir cualquier cosa que posean los demás. Ponle fin a tu ambición frente a las criaturas porque, en verdad, la avaricia es la clave de la desgracia, explota el intelecto, fabrica cualidades valerosas para sí mismo, empaña la reputación y elimina el conocimiento”.

There are two works attributed to al-Harrani; al-Tamhis and Tuhaf al-'uqul fi ma ja' min al-hikam wa l-mawa'iz min Al al-Rasul.
