الامام الحسین (علیه السلام):
اعلَموا أنَّ المَعروفَ مُكِسبٌ حَمدا، ومُعقِبٌ أجرا، فلَو رَأيتُمُ المَعروفَ رَجُلًا لَرَأيتُموهُ حَسَنا جَميلًا يَسُرُّ النّاظِرينَ ويَفوقُ العالَمينَ، ولَو رَأيتُمُ اللُّؤمَ رَأيتُموهُ سَمِجا قَبيحا مَشوما تَنفِرُ مِنهُ القُلوبُ وتُغَضُّ دُونَهُ الأبصار
جان لو کہ نیکی، تعریف حاصل کرنے والی ہے اور اجر کو اپنے پیچھے لانے والی ہے، تو اگر تم نیکی کو آدمی کی شکل میں دیکھتے تو یقیناً اسے حَسین و جمیل دیکھتے، دیکھنے والوں کو خوش کرتی اور عالمین پر اسے فوقیت حاصل ہوتی اور اگر تم پستی کو دیکھتے تو تم اسے بدشکل، قبیح، اور بدنما دیکھتے جس سے دلوں کو نفرت ہوجاتی اور اس کے سامنے آنکھیں نیچی ہوجاتیں۔
