رسول الله (صلی الله علیه و آله):
أدنَى الكُفرِ أنْ يَسمعَ الرّجُلُ مِن أخيهِ الكَلِمَةَ فيَحْفَظَها علَيهِ يُريدُ أنْ يَفْضَحَهُ بها، اولئكَ لا خَلاقَ لَهُم.
The Prophet Muhammad (S):
The most basic level of infidelity is for a man to hear a fellow brother say something and memorize it for future to use against him in order to shame him with it. Those are worthless people indeed.

الإمام جعفر الصادق (عليه السَّلام ):
ما الْتَقى مُؤمِنانِ قَطُّ إلّا كانَ أفْضَلُهُما أشَدَّهُما حُبّاً لأخيهِ.
Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
No sooner do two believers meet than the better of them is he who loves his brother more.

الإمام جعفر الصادق (عليه السَّلام ):
مَن كانَ في حاجَةِ أخيهِ المؤمنِ المسلمِ كانَ اللّهُ في حاجَتِهِ ما كانَ في حاجَةِ أخيهِ.
Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
The one who engages himself in fulfilling the need of his Muslim brother, Allah fulfils his need as long as he remains engaged in fulfilling the need of his brother.

رسول الله (صلی الله علیه و آله):
مَن مَشى في عَونِ أخيهِ وَ مَنْفعتِهِ فلَهُ ثَوابُ المُجاهِدينَ في سبيلِ اللّهِ
The Prophet Muhammad (S):
The one who endeavors to help his brother and benefit him has the reward of the warriors in the way of Allah.

الإمام علي (عليه السَّلام):
خيرُ الإخْوانِ أقلُّهُمْ مُصانَعةً في النَّصيحَةِ.
Imam Ali (as):
The best of brothers is the one with the least hesitance in offering [harsh but sincere] advice.

الإمام علي (عليه السَّلام):
مَن جانَبَ الإخْوانَ على كُلِّ ذَنبٍ قَلَّ أصدِقاؤهُ.
Imam Ali (as):
He who shuns his brothers for every lapse will have few friends.

الإمام جعفر الصادق (عليه السَّلام ):
الإخوانُ ثلاثةٌ: فواحِدٌ كالغِذاءِ الّذي يُحتاجُ إليهِ كُلَّ وقتٍ فَهُو العاقلُ، و الثّاني فيمعنَى الدّاءِ و هُو الأحْمَقُ، و الثّالثُ في معنَى الدّواءِ فَهُو اللّبِيبُ.
Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
Brothers are of three [kinds]: one, like food, is needed all the time and this is the wise [friend]. Another is similar to disease, and this is the fool. And the third is like medicine, and this is the tactful friend.

الإمام جعفر الصادق (عليه السَّلام ):
احذَرْ أن تُواخيَ مَن أرادَكَ لِطَمعٍ أو خَوفٍ أو مَيْلٍ أو للأكلِ و الشُّرْبِ، و اطلبْ مُواخاةَ الأتقياءِ و لو في ظُلُماتِ الأرضِ، و إنْ أفنيتَ عُمْرَكَ في طلبِهِم
Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣadiq (as):
Be warned against having a brother who wants you for greed, out of fear, or because of food and drink. Instead, seek the brotherhood of the pious even if they are in the darkness of the earth and even if you have to spend your life seeking them.

الإمام محمد الباقر (عليه السَّلام):
بِئسَ الأخُ أخٌ يَرعاكَ غَنِيّاً وَ يقطعُكَ فَقيراً
Imam Muhammad al-Baqir (as):
The worst brother is the one who stays with you in your affluence and abandons you in your poverty.

الإمام علي (عليه السَّلام):
إنْ أرَدْتَ قَطِيعةَ أخيكَ فاستَبْقِ لَهُ مِن نفسِكَ بَقيّةً يَرجِعُ إليها إن بَدا لَه ذلكَ يوما مّا.
Imam Ali (as):
If you want to cut off relations with your brother make sure to leave a place for him in your heart, so he can return to it one day when he so wishes.
