الإمام جعفر الصادق (عليه السَّلام ):
لا تَتَصَدَّقْ على أعيُنِ الناسِ لِيُزَكُّوكَ؛ فإنّكَ إن فَعَلتَ ذلكَ فَقَدِ استَوفَيتَ أجرَكَ، ولكنْ إذا أعطَيتَ بِيَمِينِكَ فلا تُطلِعْ علَيها شِمالَكَ؛ فإنَّ الذي تَتَصَدَّقُ لَهُ سِرّا يَجزِيكَ عَلانِيَةً.
Ne donne pas l aumône (fiadaqa) sous les yeux des gens afin qu ils fassent ton éloge car en vérité, si tu agis ainsi, tu auras déjà eu ta récompense. En revanche, si tu donnes de ta main droite de telle façon que ta main gauche n en sache rien, alors Celui pour qui tu as donné une aumône en secret te récompensera certainement un jour ouvertement.
