Discription of This Book

Al-Jami al-Sahih, known as Sahih Muslim, written by Muslim bin Hajjaj Nishaburi, is the most important hadith book of Sunnis after Sahih Bukhari. This book contains 7275 prophetic hadiths, without repeated hadiths, its narrations will be about 4000. According to Moslem's claim, all its hadiths are valid and correct. However, some Sunni scholars such as Nawi, Hakim Nishaburi and Ibn Hajar Asqalani have doubted the authenticity of some of its hadiths. It has been criticized due to documentary (suspension) and textual (insertion) defects, as well as quoting from weak narrators. According to Shiites, there are weak and fake hadiths in Sahih Muslim. In his Sahih, Muslim narrated some hadiths about the virtues of Ahl al-Bayt, whose number is considered to be 62. Muslim wrote his book based on the request of one of the elders of hadith and with the aim of organizing the books of hadith that brought the correct and non-correct hadiths together. It is said that he spent 15 years to write it.
